Flour is a Boston institution, founded by James Beard Award-winning pastry chef Joanne Chang. The sticky buns are famous for a reason - gooey, caramelized, and genuinely one of the best pastries in the entire city.

The South End location isn't the closest to BU, but it's worth the trek. Beyond the sticky bun, the sandwiches are excellent (the BLT is a standout), the cookies are perfect, and weekend brunch is a scene.

This is a treat-yourself spot. You're not eating here every day on a student budget. But when you want to celebrate something, need to impress someone, or just deserve something nice, Flour delivers.

Pro tip: Arrive early on weekends. The sticky buns sell out, and the brunch line gets long. If you're a fan of Top Chef, Joanne Chang was a competitor and judge on the show.
